Empresarios
The Empresarios sound is best described as “Tropicaliente”, and that is the vibe that the band brings to the stage as well. Each and every time the Empresarios take the stage; there is a lively party that forms on the dancefloor. Mixing together the warm sounds of the Caribbean comes with ease for this group of talented musicians. Band leader Javier Miranda and lead singers Frankie Rosado and Felix Perez all hail from Puerto Rico, which comes through in the band’s unique blend of salsa, reggae, cumbia, dub and house. With several US tours and numerous solid releases under their belts, the Empresarios are ready to take the world by storm. A global fan base is growing with the help of the Empresarios having their album title track “Sabor Tropical” placed prominently on EA Sports’ FIFA 2012 video game. Most importantly, the Empresarios aim to have fun and bring a good vibe, so grab a mojito, hit the dance floor and let their sun drenched sounds warm up your body and soul.

Fort Knox Recordings and DC Brau proudly present the "Funk 4 Peace Ball". To celebrate the Inauguration, we are proud to present DJ Nu-Mark of Jurassic Five, who has just released his solo album "Broken Sunlight". Four years ago we paid homage to the Hip-Hop Generation with Afrika Bambaataa, and this time around we give our respects to DJ Culture. In addition to DJ Nu-Mark, there will be exciting DJ sets from Fort Knox artists Fort Knox Five, All Good Funk Alliance, Empresarios, Nappy Riddem and QDup Foundation. Once again, its time to Funk 4 Peace!!
BLACK MASALA
Think about the best concerts you've attended and chances are you had a lot of fun, dancing and smiling throughout the show. This is exactly the kind of vibe you will experience when Black Masala is performing live. Performing hundreds of shows a year has helped Washington, DC's gypsy punk brass band hone their sound, while injecting it with a healthy dose of funk, soul and eclectic grooves. Black Masala is all about having fun! In 2015 Black Masala released their second studio album, I Love You Madly and has plans to release remixes of that album later this year. I Love You Madly was well received and reached #2 on the CMJ World Chart and #4 on Canada's national Earshot radio chart. On their second album it is clear that Black Masala are having a lot of fun incorporating various musical influences into their go-anywhere Brass sound. Ranging from Gypsy punk, Balkan brass and New Orleans funk, to Bhangra and bounce, this is an album for the multicultural music listener. The heavy horns and danceable rhythms tie "I Love You Madly" together and create an album that can be played for a wide range of audiences.
