Mardi Gras Carnivale - (Set time: 7:20 PM)
Mardi Gras Carnivale
Jonny Grave & the Tombstones

Jonny Grave is a guitarist, songwriter, singer, bandleader, teacher, musical historian, journalist, photographer, and Bluesman from Washington DC.Growing up in a very musical family, Grave was introduced to the sounds of American traditional folk music early on. At age fifteen he found himself learning slide guitar techniques from old Blues records, and by seventeen he was performing them live.
Footwerk

A Washington, D.C.-based 6-piece Pop outfit can only be described as an intense, high-energy performance, a ‘blind date’ for first timers or a ‘booty call’ to an experienced audience member. Vocally led by ‘friendzone’ power couple on the frontline, the back line is made up by a group of diverse musicians from different backgrounds:

Melissa (voice)

Kyle (raps)

Teddi (keys)

Eric (percussion)

Fern (bass)

Josh (drums)

Crafting their sound by ‘Sleeping Around’ with Rock rhythms under soulful Rap and R&B vocals over dance beats with a splash of percussion. Footwerk's unique style of ‘No Strings Attached’ fan interaction made their ‘One Night Stands’ popular in the saturated DMV scene.
Unbelievably, A chance craigslist meeting led to the formation of the independent group. Due to their immediate success they’ve decided to release their debut album, aptly titled ‘Casual Encounters’ and go out on a national tour of ‘One Night Stands' in 2015. Here's your chance to see for yourself, if there’s chemistry in person and have your own ‘Casual Encounter’ with Footwerk. (No Strings Attached)

Burlesque by Cherie Sweetbottom and Dainty Dandridge

ABOUT CHERIE SWEETBOTTOM:

Armed with a megawatt smile, chameleon-like shape-shifting abilities, and a posterior that’s been described as “hypnotizing”, Washington, DC-based Cherie is a professionally trained actress with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre who has been performing for most of her life, and in burlesque since 2011.

She produces of House of Sweetbottom; co-produces DC’s premiere nerdy burlesque troupe, the Evil League of Ecdysiasts; and performs regularly with Naked Girls Reading DC and at L’Enfant Cafe’s La Boum Brunch, one of Open Table’s Top 100 Brunches in the Country.

Television credits include “House of Horrors: Kidnapped”; “American Super/Natural”; and “Deadly Affairs”. Cherie is a touring member of Burlesque is Coming, the only Game of Thrones burlesque tribute officially endorsed by George R. R. Martin and invited to perform at his theatre in Santa Fe, NM. The tour received international attention from media outlets such as Entertainment Weekly, Playboy, Time, CNN Indonesia, The Telegraph (UK), and more.

Cherie is a core cast member of The Carnivalesque Roadshow, an immersive 1930’s Dust Bowl-era traveling circus experience produced by Gilded Lily Burlesque and Armitage Shanks and starring the 2012 King of Boylesque Russell Bruner. The Carnivalesque Roadshow has toured the mid-Atlantic, performing in SC, DC, MD, NJ, and VA. She was also a founding producer/performer of Compound Productions 5050.

Cherie has performed all over the country, but she proudly calls the District of Columbia her home.

Tiffany Mott-Smith calls herself a “Jackie of all trades” and lists producer, historian, chanteuse and more among her job titles. In fact, the tired, old “what do you do” question annoys her to no end.

In addition to pursuing a Ph.D. by day in LGBT health policy and practice at George Washington University, she performs by evening as Dainty Dandridge, a local burlesque star who has found a niche among queer black D.C. performers. ~ Joey DiGuglielmo, Washington Blade
