Job posting: Production Manager at U Street Music Hall

U Street Music Hall is hiring a Production Manager! If you are a highly motivated individual who is passionate about live show production, doesn’t mind working late nights, and wants to be part of a dedicated team that works together to present world-class programming every week, we want to hear from you!

Here are some of the major tasks you’ll be working on in this role:

Running sound for live shows
If you take a look at our upcoming schedule, you’ll see that we regularly present a wide range of live shows at U Street Music Hall. The Production Manager will be responsible for running sound at live shows and should have prior experience doing so for other shows. Must be knowledgable of Digico SD9 Console.

Staffing management
You’ll work closely with our General Manager each week to hire and schedule sound techs, stage hands, and LDs to work live shows at our venue.

Advancing shows
Artist relations is one of our top priorities at U Street Music Hall and we will be looking to the Production Manager to deliver excellent service to our artists in the show advance process. Throughout the week, you’ll work with the General Manager to advance all our live/DJ shows. This includes coordinating event logistics, production needs, hotel and accommodations, gear sourcing, artist runs, artist hospitality, and more.

Sound system and lighting maintenance
The Production Manager will be responsible for coordinating routine and necessary sound system and lighting maintenance, repairs, and upgrades around the venue. They will also check in-house gear on a weekly basis to ensure that all equipment is up to industry standards.

Work as a promotor representative at off-site shows
U Street Music Hall regularly presents shows at 9:30 Club, Ten Tigers Parlour, and other spaces throughout the area. The Production Manager will act as a promotor rep for select off-site shows. This includes setting up DJ gear, coordinating show logistics, and acting as a liaison between artist teams and venue staff.
